New Delhi, September 19, 2011: Uttam Air Products, a leading gas manufacturer with an excellent record in the manufacturing and distribution of medical and industrial gases for over 35 years, is showcasing its most advanced ultra light weight fire extinguishers at the ongoing Fire India 2011 Expo on 19th, 20th and 21st September 2011 at the NSIC Grounds.
The theme of the three-day exhibition is “Fire Risk Alleviation: Readying for Excellence”. Uttam, a known name in the fields of Fire and Safety equipment and Medical, Industrial and Cryogenic gases, is displaying its new range of compact and light weight Luxfer fire extinguishers that have unique properties and are far more advanced than the conventional steel fire extinguishers.
Uttam in conjunction with Luxfer Gas Cylinders, the world’s largest manufacturer of aluminium and composite high-pressure gas cylinders, is offering a vast range of high-quality, high-performance aluminium fire extinguisher cylinders. Approved by Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organization (PESO), Govt. of India, these Luxfer fire extinguishers are up to 40 percent lighter than most comparable steel cylinders. Their body is made up of thick, damage-resistant walls. These fire extinguishers are non-magnetic, of consistent weight and are best suited for wet gases.
Mr. Karan Bhatia, Executive Director, Uttam Air Products and President, All India Industrial Gases Manufacturers Association (AIIGMA), says, “Conventional steel fire extinguishing cylinders are very heavy and in case of emergency it becomes difficult to swiftly maneuver them. On the other hand, Luxfer aluminium fire extinguishers are light weight, which makes them easy to operate. Even ladies can handle these fire extinguishers. We are happy to present to our esteemed customers these advanced composite high-pressure gas fire extinguishers that are manufactured at Uttam Air Products as per the global standards. Our products undergo the strictest quality checks and we ensure that there is consistency in the dimensions and other vital aspects of our product specially those pertaining to the safety of our fire extinguishers.”
Moisture inside steel cylinders (from condensation, moist gas, etc.) creates oxidation that leads to corrosion that in turn can lead to thinning of the walls of extinguisher and accidental leakage of gas or even a rupture! However, Luxfer fire extinguishers have a corrosion-resistant interior and exterior surface that protects them from rusting and further damage. Besides, these aluminium fire extinguishers also have a good aesthetic appeal. They are available in excellent choice of finishing including silk screening and clear coat labeling. Due to the shiny nature of the metal, users can proudly display these fire extinguishers in the open.
About Uttam Air Products Pvt. Ltd: Established in the year 1900, Uttam Air Products, is the flagship company of the UTTAM Group. The company is in the business of Manufacturing & Distribution of Medical and Industrial gases, High Pressure Lightweight Gas Cylinders, Allied Equipments and Solutions.

Hyderabad, 08 September, 2011: Following up on their last announcement of commissioning of the much awaited Modular Casting Machine “ECCM” (Electrotherm’s Continuous Casting Machine), market leader Electrotherm has once again put one more revolutionary step in the secondary steel making industry of our country.

“On the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi, we made it at Sarwottam Ispat Limited, Hyderabad, the first heat was tapped in our ECCM… and out came the billets… as flawlessly as expected” remarked Mr. Suneel Kulkarni, Executive Director of Electrotherm. “We succeeded in delivering our promise to the industry. The entire market was anxiously waiting for this moment. And we finally made it!! I would take this opportunity to thank all our customers and stakeholders for reposing faith in us as a team for delivering this product”.

Rishabh Lath, Director Sarwottam Ispat Limited who was handling this specific project said “In our continuous endeavor to produce quality TMT bars we were looking for a billet caster. Billet was necessary for us to further improve our quality as well as stay competitive. Cost effectiveness and early implementation time was prime criteria that we had in our mind. We placed our order for the Modular Caster just because Electrotherm was doing it. We never had any doubt but yes, the anxiety was there for certain. On that evening, when the first billet came out of the machine, everyone was glad. We felt proud of our decision. And surprisingly many of the market convictions and our doubts were laid to rest; because even we did not believe that billets could be cast using a single strand billet caster with a Rigid Dummy Bar and all other features that Electrotherm spoke about. Today we are confident enough that this selection is indeed the best for our kind industry”

“Based on all inputs received from the industry, our first focus was to produce billets successfully. There were talks and comments on the various negatives of such a selection. But I am really happy to say that the product quality, technology and support of Electrotherm team have been marvellous. Something worth mentioning here is that the billets produced from the very first batch through our ECCM have been successfully rolled into 8mm TMT bars as well!! The TMT bars rolled from the billets have achieved all the improved properties that we were looking for.” Mr Rishabh Lath quoted.

Mr. Bharat Tank, Country Head – Marketing (E&P Division) said “Our company’s mission statement is “Always Innovate…for a better tomorrow” and this commissioning paves way for even more economic steel making in the secondary steel industry of India that always has been hungry for such products because of demand driven market prices. Apart from saving on the yield, this product is eco-friendly because it reduces the waste generation by way of refractories that had to be dumped somewhere. We dedicate this success to our clients who have relentlessly trusted our capabilities and inspired us to develop better and better products”.

Gurgaon; 15th May 2011: Hyderabad, the Public Private Partnership (PPP) entrepreneurs capital will play host to Andhra Pradesh’s 1st conference on PPP in railways on 23rd May 2011. The conference is being organized by Smart Wave Institute along with Maritime Gateway, its official media partner, at Taj Krishna.

Several eminent policy-makers from the Railway Board, key stakeholders from user industries have confirmed their participation in the conference, that seeks to address the new opportunities in railway from the PPP mode. As per Railway Budget 2011-12, Indian Railways expects to raise Rs.1776 Cr. through the PPP route. The budget provides opportunities for private investment with 85 proposals for PPP to address concerns regarding growing scarcity of rail logistics infrastructure the economy is grappling with today.

The conference assumes a special significance in view of the criticism of Rail Ministry from Finance Ministry over the inordinate delay in awarding PPP projects. Mr. N V S Reddy, Managing Director, Hyderabad Metro, welcomed the initiative taken by Smart Wave towards creating awareness about PPP and commented ” If India has to achieve the aspirational GDP growth rate of 10 per cent per annum over the next few years, PPP is the only way forward for railways”. Mr. Yogendra Sharma, CEO, Adani Rail Logistics and a well know expert in PPP echoed on the same lines and remarked “PPP should be a win-win situation rather than win-lose or lose-lose situation for both the parties. The process has started already. For the first time, the Railways has thrown open the development of freight terminals to the private sector.”

The user industries being represented at the conference include ports, colliereis, cement, steel, fertiliser and foodgrains. Some of the leading rail logistics service providers, such as private container train operators, financiers, project developers, entrepreneurs and consultants will also participate in the deliberations.

About Smart Wave

Smart Wave is an organisation engaged in various capacity building initiatives, including independent research, training and consulting in the area of infrastructure development of transportation logistics, real estate, healthcare and education sectors. (www.smartwave.in)

Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, April 27, 2011 – Dürr is building the prototype of the Green Paint Shop for BMW Brilliance Automotive [...]

Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, April 27, 2011 – Dürr is building the prototype of the Green Paint Shop for BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. (BBA) in Shenyang, China. All of the technological innovations that Dürr has to offer in terms of environmentally friendly, sustainable automotive painting will be used in this paint shop.

The customer has clear visions for its paint shop in Shenyang: the goal is to create nothing short of the world’s most environmentally friendly plant. The general contractor Dürr, with its diverse approaches to resource-saving painting, is the ideal partner for this.

RoDip M rotational dip coating is used in the PT/ED area. The rotational movement of the car bodies thus allows inclined sections at the entrance and exit of the dip tank to be eliminated. This fact leads not only to a significant savings of space, but also to a reduced consumption of energy and chemicals due to smaller bath volumes.

Other technical features that highlight this “green” attribute are the fully automatic IPP (Integrated Paint Process), which eliminates the need for primer and thus a drying phase as well. The spray booths are equipped with EcoDryScrubber technology, the innovative dry separation method from Dürr which requires no water or chemicals. In this way air recirculation allows a 60% savings in energy. The saturated binding material – a hazardous waste in conventional processes – can be re-used without any further treatment. Dürr’s dry separation systems are already in use or under construction in 40 paint lines on four continents.

Paint will be applied with 32 type EcoRP E033 and EcoRP L133 painting robots from Dürr. These are equipped with the latest generation of atomizer, the EcoBell3, which is characterized by its significantly higher atomizer performance. Due to the EcoBell3′s compact design, both exterior and interior painting can be done with the same rotating atomizer. In conjunction with the EcoLCC color changer, the EcoBell3 offers a highly efficient and compact, but also easy, application system for all applications. This leads to minimal paint loss during color changes and this process is considerably shortened.

A further measure for protecting the environment, the use of heat wheels for heat recovery from supply and exhaust air. Even the waste heat from the dryers is recovered through a waste heat boiler. The exhaust air stream from the clear coat booth is purified over and above the regulatory requirements before leaving the facility. Through the use of membrane technology in the pretreatment, electro dipping and waste water system, both water consumption and the amount of waste water are reduced.

With its layout philosophy, Dürr creates favorable conditions for this prototype of a green paint shop. The framework constitutes a simple, inexpensive industrial building with no intermediate levels. This concept is supported by multi-functional car body stacks in the form of high-rise storage facilities to ensure an optimum flow of materials.

Along with the environment, this project features another winner: the customer can lay claim to operating the most sustainable “green” paint shop in the world. The specific energy consumption that BMW reaches with this new paint shop sets new standards worldwide, as less than 500 kilowatt hours of energy are needed per painted car body. This is only a third of what was common just ten years ago.

At the same time much emphasis is placed on having a worker-friendly work environment: ergonomic working conditions are just as standard as ease of communication and maintenance. That BMW’s quality standards will in this way be guaranteed goes without saying.

Dürr is a mechanical and plant engineering group that holds leading positions in the world market in its areas of operation. It generates a good 80% of its sales in business with the automotive industry. It furthermore supplies the aircraft, machinery, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries with innovative production and environmental technologies. The Dürr Group operates in the market with three divisions. The Paint and Assembly Systems division supplies production and painting technology, especially for car bodies. Machinery and systems from the Measuring and Process Systems division are used in engine and transmission manufacturing and in final vehicle assembly, among other areas. The third division, Clean Technology Systems, is focused on processes to improve energy efficiency and on exhaust air purification. Dürr has 48 business locations in 21 countries worldwide. The Group achieved sales of € 1.26 billion with approximately 5,900 employees in 2010.
Few months back Cerebra announced the launch of India’s largest e-waste recycling facility in suburban Peenya in Bangalore. With this, Cerebra has begun the first phase of its E-Waste Management Roadmap, that is separation of metals, non-metals, and processing (crushing) of PCB in the Mobile Shredder. Cerebra will send the crushed PCBs to Singapore for further processing and raw material extraction.

Cerebra’s E-Waste facility which is coming up on a 10 acre facility will be able to handle a record 90,000 MT of E-waste per annum. This facility will be fully operational by September 2011, and will be able to recycle E-Waste completely, which means that is it will be able to extract Ferrous/Non-Ferrous metals, Precious Group Metals like Platinum, Gold and Silver, and plastic for fuel conversion in the third phase of its operations.

Cerebra is fully geared to address the rapidly growing e-waste recycling and management market in India. According to a report by UNEP titled, “Recycling – from E-Waste to Resources“, the amount of e-waste being produced – including mobile phones and computers – could rise by as much as 500 percent over the next decade in some countries, such as India. For instance, Bangalore alone now generates about 70,000 tonnes of e-waste in a year and accounts for about obsolete 30,000 computers.

The Mobile Shredder is capable of handling 3600 tons of e-waste. This mobile shredder is so called since it can be installed on a truck and can be taken to premises of those companies wishing to process the e-waste in front of them to ensure copyright and data protection. Cerebra is the only company having such a facility and will greatly allay fears of big corporations and other R&D companies about safe and secure destruction of their sensitive data.

On Site Service: E-Waste destroyed at customer site with one of the self-contained mobile trucks. The customer can witness the destruction.

Off Site Service: E-Waste picked up at customer site in Cerebra’s locked trucks are shredded in its secure facilities. The customer can also choose to drop off e-waste for destruction and/or witness destruction in one of Cerebra’s video monitored and alarmed shops.

Electronic Waste Destruction and Recycling: Data storage devices are destroyed at Cerebra’s facilities and obsolete electronics are recycled with Cerebra’s partner Cimelia Resource Recovery Pte Ltd, Singapore.

In August 2010, Cerebra had announced its plans to set up one of India’s largest E-Waste management facility in India. Further they also held an E-Waste Conference in Bangalore on January 12, 2011. This conference was well attended with industry leaders, various government department representatives, and representatives from the Pollution Control Board participating among others.

Mr. Venkatesha Murthy, Director and Head of Operations, Cimelia Resource Recovery Pte Ltd, Singapore says “With the installation of mobile shredder we have begun the first phase of joint technical collaboration with Cerebra and a new phase in E-waste management in India. This facility will be have one of the most technically advanced processes that we have developed in Singapore in handling e-waste and clearing zero landfills. The tie-up with Cerebra will be an exclusive one and we will manage this plant for a three year period. We are sure that this facility would be a world class production hub for generating metals from secondary sources and will have one of the finest R&D labs for work on metal analysis and extraction“.

Mr. Gururaja K Upadhya, Director – Technical Support, Cerebra says “With the installation of the mobile shredder we have taken a major step in achieving our vision and objective of creating a cleaner and greener world. More and more corporates have green Initiatives as part of their CSR programs and this will give further fillip to the E-Waste management industry. Also the Government of India and Ministry of Environment and Forests are coming out with strict guidelines and rules for safe and proper disposal of E-Waste generated by companies. These rules will make it mandatory for companies to furnish proof and documents that their e-waste has been properly disposed“.

Cerebra is in joint collaboration with Cimelia Resource Recovery, Singapore, that operates some of the most sophisticated electronic recycling machinery in the world ensuring all toxic assemblies (batteries, capacitors, mercury contacts etc), are removed and correctly processed prior to PCBs and assemblies being processed for recovery of precious metals.

Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, January 27, 2011 – The modular final assembly system FAStplant® from Duerr has proven itself since entering the market in 2004. The wide spectrum of applications for the system – ranging from automotive test plants to mass passenger car production, and from pre-assembly of aircraft wings to motor cycle manufacture – demonstrates just how versatile it is. Ongoing development on the basis of practical experience means that today FAStplant® can be utilized more flexibly than ever before.

Daimler was the first to put its trust in FAStplant® when it built a six module pilot plant at Sindelfingen (Germany) in 2004. Further test plants followed for Toyota at Valenciennes (France), Ford at Cologne and VW at Zwickau (both in Germany). This was because the rapid installation and high adaptability characteristics of FAStplant® make it particularly suitable for test programs involving a variety of models and prototypes.

The first customer, Daimler, relocated its FAStplant® system three times within a period of six years and is now utilizing it at its fourth location. Other OEMs, such as BMW and Audi, have opted for FAStplant® for smaller production series: Audi has been assembling the R8 sports car with the system at Neckarsulm (Germany) since 2006, and at Chennai (India) several different BMW models have been produced very flexibly on a CKD assembly line there since 2007. The first mass-production chassis line – incorporating 80 FAStplant® modules and including 58 hangers with infinitely adjustable height regulation – was built by GM at San Luis Potosi (Mexico). This American manufacturer has been producing 100,000 vehicles per year there since 2009.

The FAStplant® system, which is based on a simple modular principle and allows pre-fabricated and tested modules to be combined freely to form assembly lines, is proving to be increasingly convincing in other industrial branches too. A motor cycle manufacturer is currently having new concept FAStplant® utilities modules installed so that work stations are uniformly equipped. This system user is introducing FAStplant® on a worldwide basis and is capitalizing on the system’s strength – simplicity of production capacity adaptation around the globe.

FAStplant® is not affected by roof load restrictions, so simple, low cost building concepts can be implemented regardless of the size and weight of the product involved. A newly developed heavy duty module has made it possible to transfer FAStplant® technology to aircraft production. Two assembly lines, incorporating 130 modules and with a total length of more than 1.2 km, went into operation for Lockheed Martin at Fort Worth (USA) in March, 2010. For the first time in aircraft manufacture, wings are being assembled in pulse production there. The wings can even be turned on their own axis so that special assembly processes can be carried out.

The diversity of these FAStplant® projects shows just how vital it is for system users to be able to modify manufacturing lines easily and to adapt production quickly and optimally to suit changing market situations.

Duerr is a mechanical and plant engineering group that holds leading positions in the world market in its areas of operation. It generates a good 80% of its sales in business with the automotive industry. It furthermore supplies the aircraft, machinery, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries with innovative production and environmental technology. The Duerr Group operates in the market with two divisions. The Paint and Assembly Systems division supplies production and painting technology, especially for car bodies. Machinery and systems from the Measuring and Process Systems division are used in engine and transmission manufacturing and in final vehicle assembly, among other areas. Duerr has 48 business locations in 21 countries worldwide. The Group achieved sales of € 1.1 billion with approximately 5,700 employees in 2009.

New Delhi 17th January 2011: Metal Container Manufactures Association(MCMA) has demanded that the government should provide fiscal incentives to promote Eco friendly packaging. Metal packaging industry is facing serious problem on accumulation of credit due to inverted duty structure and supplies to merchant exporter/manufacturer exporter against Notification 43/2001 dated 26/6/2001, the MCMA said in a Pre Budget Memorandum 2011-12 to the Ministry of Finance.

According to Mr. Sanjay Bhatia President MCMA & Managing Director Hindustan Tin works Ltd “We have urged the government to provide fiscal incentives to promote packaging which is environmental friendly, recyclable and sustainable. These incentives can be given in terms of subsidies, refund of indirect taxes, concessional duty on import of capital goods/inputs and income tax exemption”

MCMA (a primary organization that) represents the interests of companies involved in the production of metal containers, packaging and allied components. The issues affecting metal packaging industry are provided below:

§ Various food products like mango pulp, process vegetables, coffee etc. which are packed in tin containers are exported out of the country by manufacturers, export houses, traders, merchant exporters etc.

§ These cans are supplied by the industry without paying excise duty under Notification 43/2001 dated 26/6/2001 as merchant exporters and their supporting manufacturers don’t want to pay excise duty and claim refund. The said notification stipulates “procurement of goods without payment of duty for the purpose of use in the manufacture or processing of export goods and their exportation out of India”

§ For can making industry, this results intonon utilization of CENVAT credit.

§ MCMA suggests that such deemed export should be brought at par with physical export as in the latter case, the excise duty paid on packaging material is being refunded under Rule 18 of the Central Excise Rules 2002.

The recommendations’ by the Metal Container Manufactures Association (MCMA) to the Government in Pre Budget Memorandum 2011-12

· Deemed export should be brought at par with physical export for the purposes of refund of excise duty in order to address the issue of CENVAT accumulation with the industry.

· Alternatively, the accumulated CENVAT credit should be allowed to be adjusted against the purchase of inputs so that excise duty should not be paid again on such inputs resulting into further accumulation of CENVAT.

· Appropriate fiscal incentives should be considered to promote packaging which is environmental friendly, recyclable and sustainable. These incentives can be given in terms of subsidies, refund of indirect taxes, concessional duty on import of capital goods/inputs and income tax exemption.

About Metal Container Association of India:

MCMA (a primary organization that) represents the interests of companies involved in the production of metal containers, packaging and allied components. Member companies range from large international organizations to small independent specialist manufacturers throughout the India. In particular, the Association represents members’ views to government and other regulatory bodies. MCMA also seeks to influence the formulation of plans and legislation by communicating a well researched and argued industry view.

Indian Cement Industry Gearing Up for Rapid Growth says a new research report on Indian Cement Industry

According to our latest research report “Indian Cement Industry Forecast to 2012”, cement production in India has grown at a brisk pace during the last few years. Despite recession, Indian cement industry enhanced its production to the record level in 2009-10 amid recent boom in the infrastructure and housing markets. In view of the upcoming massive infrastructure projects, manufacturers are aggressively increasing their production capacities and the study foresees a 10.5% CAGR growth in cement production during FY 2010-FY 2014.

The research identified that, almost all the cement industry majors have either announced their capacity expansion plans or are currently formulating strategies to ramp up production in coming years. Rapidly growing economy and regulatory support encourage the industry players to execute their expansion plans. In coming years, the expanded capacity will not only enable players to tap the domestic demand, but also increase their export considerations.

Further, Indian cement industry is slowly but constantly moving on the path of consolidation. Leading companies are aggressively looking for merger and acquisition (M&A) opportunities in the key cement markets of the country. These M&A’s will not only provide access to the new prospect markets, but will also balance the rivalry level in the market. We anticipate this trend to benefit the consumer most during coming years as balancing competition will exert downward pressure on cement prices and will promote demand.

Our report “Indian Cement Industry Forecast to 2012”, is an outcome of extensive research and conceptual analysis of the Indian cement industry’s current status and future potentials. It provides information/statistics on all prominent segments like, production, installed capacity, export, import, plant size, and consumption to provide clients valuable information on different aspects of cement industry. It also throws light on the regional cement demand-supply outlook to help clients understand the market dynamics and get an insight into the industry at the micro level. The report also presents industry forecast based on correlation of past drivers, challenges, and opportunities for expansion.

Texspin Bearings Integrates IBM’s Infrastructure to Connect Better with Its Customers. Implements SAP and IBM BladeCenter solutions.

India, December 23, 2010: IBM and Texspin today announced the implementation of “SAP All-in-One solution”, a pre-configured SAP solution with industry scenarios pre built in on IBM Bladecentre hardware at Texspin . The solution, implemented by Global Business Services will help Texspin operate as an integrated business unit, and connect more closely with their customers.

Till recently, local production, management, costing and financial business systems could not keep pace with the 120 percent annual sales growth Texspin was experiencing. Finding information was time-consuming, and discovering root causes of manufacturing delays or cost overruns was difficult leading to missed opportunities to identify and correct problems.

Texspin was looking for a solution partner that could transition their legacy systems and provide the service and support necessary to deploy the SAP landscape rapidly and cost-effectively. After speaking with other automotive-industry enterprises, Texspin Bearings selected IBM Global Business Services based on its excellent track record and deep understanding of SAP and its solution offerings. IBM Global Business Services team replaced multiple business systems and legacy infrastructure with “SAP All-in-One Solution” offering a preconfigured, preinstalled software and hardware based on IBM BladeCenter.

Vishal Makwana, Director at Texspin Bearings, stated, “The existing fragmented systems operating at different sites were not giving us the information we needed, and could not grow easily as the company expanded. Processes between sites were not connected, which lead to a lack of accountability.”

The integrated SAP All-in-One solution ensures all sites follow the same processes and product codes, allowing sales orders to be fulfilled by several sites. Executive enquiries that previously took weeks to resolve are now answered immediately. The IBM BladeCenter HS22 powered by Intel Xeon Processor 5600 Series processors offers flexible options to support a broad range of workloads, including virtualization and enterprise applications. Furthermore, it has helped them lower energy costs, leading to seven-fold increase in capacity to match business growth and an estimated return on investment in as little as 5 months.

Commenting on this engagement, Mr. Jyothi Satyanathan, Vice President, Mid Market and Inside Sales, IBM said, “The combination of SAP applications and IBM technologies will offer lower costs for customers and for Texspin by reducing delays and errors in their processes. We are glad that our team was able to complete the deployment in less than five months and exceeded client expectations”.ishal Makwana finally concludes, “The SAP Business All-in-One Fast Start Program and IBM BladeCenter solution was highly cost-effective and ideal for a mid-size enterprise such as Texspin Bearings. The BladeCenter can be rapidly expanded by the addition of blade servers, which will allow us to increase capacity exactly as we need it, helping Texspin Bearings win in the global automotive marketplace.”

About Texspin Bearings Texspin Bearings manufactures precision engineering components for steering, suspension, engine and transmission systems. With sales offices worldwide, Texspin Bearings competes in the highly competitive global automotive industry. Texspin India operates through multiple sites in Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune etc

India is a strategic market for VINCI

Mumbai, December 6, 2010: India is a strategic market for VINCI. Its democratic tradition and its stable and efficient legal and political system allow us to take the long-term view in developing our businesses there. Moreover, its vigorous economic growth and determination to improve its infrastructure via the Public – Private Partnership model—a model with which we are fully familiar—renders it more attractive

still. Over the past two years, VINCI has forged cooperation agreements with Indian firms enabling it to gain a foothold notably in the nuclear power and road infrastructure markets.

In the nuclear sector

· VINCI Construction Grands Projects, which designs and builds major civil engineering structures and buildings the world over, formed a partnership in March 2010 with HCC (Hindustan Construction Company Ltd.) Engineering and Construction, a leading player in the Indian construction market, to work on highly-targeted infrastructure projects. Within the framework of this partnership, VINCI Construction Grands Projects and HCC have teamed up to bid jointly on the civil engineering for the EPR reactors at the Jaitapur site.

· Nuvia, a subsidiary of Soletanche – Freyssinet specializing in civil and military nuclear installations, is currently investigating the Indian nuclear services industry. In October 2010, Nuvia announced the signature of a cooperation agreement with PL Engineering of India, a subsidiary of the Punj Lloyd group. Ultimately, this partnership is expected to lead to the creation of a joint venture to supply nuclear project engineering and associated operational services.

In road infrastructure

· VINCI and Eurovia, a world leader in transport infrastructure and urban development works, have been working together with India’s Hinduja group since the beginning of 2010. This partnership concerns in particular the development of an activity of road construction on the Indian territory.

· VINCI Concessions, as both investor and industrial operator, and as a partner of choice of public authorities for the development of transport infrastructure projects, has entered a partnership with HCC Concessions. VINCI Concessions and HCC Concessions have already teamed up and are currently responding to invitations to tender for motorway concessions (cf. the NH8 mega project and the NH49 and NH3 motorways). VINCI Concessions is contributing its expertise, within this framework, in the design, financing and maintenance of road and motorway infrastructure, acquired over many years in France and abroad (in particular Germany, Greece, Slovakia, and elsewhere).
