Benjarong hosts Loi Krathong Festival
Loi Krathong – Celebrate The Thai Festival of Light and Pay Tribute to the Spirits of Waters
Bangalore, November 11, 2011: Every Full Moon Day of November, the people of Thailand pay their tribute to the spirit of waters. The tradition is to light a candle, make a wish and float it in a water body on a fist-size banana leaf raft. Benjarong, that serves authentic Thai cuisine with traditional and rich flavours, welcomes you to Loi Krathong Festival between November 11 and 27. This festival of light greets you to light a lamp, set it afloat on a banana leaf raft, and watch where luck takes you.
Benjarong acknowledges Loi Krathong Festival with their specialty offerings like Tom Kati Poo (traditional Thai Coconut Cream Soup with Crab Meat), Kaeng Pa Poteak ( a typical Thai spicy curry with seafood), Kanna Pahd Normai Man Farang (stirfried asparagus and broccoli and pokchoy in light soya sauce), Khao Pahd Gae Hem (salted lamb fried rice), Grui-Kaak (crusty batter fried sesame banana fritters with coconut ice cream) and many more timeless Thai classics to relish.
During the festival, the restaurant presents a rare combination of original recipes and piquant seasonings with fresh local produce and choice sea foods and meats that result in an assortment of irresistible dishes, from the pleasantly mild to the intensely spicy. “These selected dishes signify the festive spirit of the Loi Krathong Festival. The menu we have put together caters to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians”, says Corporate Chef and COO, Chef Regi Matthew.
Benjarong was conceptualized a decade ago to provide Indian consumers with genuine Thai cuisine. From the ubiquitous soups, stir-fries, satays and curries to exotic dishes, there is something to please everybody’s palate at Benjarong. The festival aims to create awareness of its outstanding Thai Cuisine, flavored with exotic Thai herbs and delicate sauces.
So get ready to set your taste buds free with a riot of delicious flavours that’s truly Thai.
