108 Emergency Response Services in Rewa Madhya Pradesh is now operational



Rewa can now dial for any emergency.  Emergency Response Services is now operational in Rewa district.

Rewa: Government of Madhya Pradesh in partnership with GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute () has now started free 108 Emergency Response Services (ERS) in Rewa with 15 ambulances. The service was launched by Hon’ble State Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare, Madhya Pradesh Government, Shri Mahendra Hardiya, and Hon’ble State Minister of (Independent Charge) Energy and Mineral Resources of Madhya Pradesh Government, Shri Rajendra Shukla,. Special guest on this occasion are Mr. Devraj Singh, MP Rewa, Mr. Shwendra Singh, Mayor Rewa, Mrs. Maya Singh, District Panchayat President, Rewa, Mr. Nagendra Singh, Legislator, Gun, Mr. Abhay Mishra, Legislator, Mr. Girish Gautam, Legislator, Devtalab, Mrs. Pannabai Prajapati, Legislator, Mangawan, Mr. Rajkumar Urmaliya, Legislator, Sirmaur, Mr. Ramgarib, Aboriginal Legislator, Tyothar and Mr. Lakshman Tiwari, Legislator, Mauganj.

The ambulances are deployed at both rural and urban areas in Rewa district. Those are located strategically in the district so that the entire district is covered and help reaches in minimum time. So anyone, be it from rural or urban Rewa can call 108 in any emergency.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Rajesh Waghmare, COO, GVK EMRI, MP said, “We are thankful to the MP government and local authorities for starting the service for the people of Rewa District. 108 is available 24×7 at your service. So if there is any emergency then call 108 and help will reach. Also if there is no emergency then do not call 108 as it will block the lines and the people in emergency will not be able to dial 108.”

In Public Private Partnership between Madhya Pradesh Government and GVK EMRI, 108 ERS was launched on July 16, 2009 in Madhya Pradesh. Along with Rewa district, the service is presently operational in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior districts.

The 108 ERS is a comprehensive emergency service where anyone can call for any emergency – be it Medical, Police and Fire related. 108 is a toll free number and can be dialed from landline and mobile phone without any code. The service is available 24×7 and is absolutely free of cost to everyone. For medical emergency, the 108 ambulance are equipped with all the requires medicines and medical equipments ranging from Suction machine, Oxygen Cylinder, Nebulizers, Glucometer, Electronic B.P. instrument, Pulse Oximeter to extrication tools, to handle almost any emergency situation.

When a caller dials 108 to report an emergency, the call lands at the 108 Emergency Response Center where the call taker will gather all the necessary information regarding type of emergency and the location of the emergency scene – where you are calling from i.e. District/Taluka /City/Town/exact location/landmark. After gathering the information either the 108 Ambulance, Fire vehicle or the Police is dispatched depending on the type of emergency. The Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) in the ambulance and Emergency Response Centre Physicians (ERCP) at the call center will provide professional pre-hospital care free of cost while transporting the victim in the ambulance to the nearest hospital of his choice.

108 Emergency Response Center has been set up in Bhopal where all the calls to 108 lands up. The center is equipped with the latest technology and infrastructure with a total manpower of over 50 trained employees. The ambulances are strategically located in the districts for emergency handling and the service is available round the clock. Right from making a call to rendering the necessary pre-hospital care in the ambulance and taking the victim to the nearest hospital, the entire service will be free to everyone in Madhya Pradesh.
