EMBALLAGE 2010 FOCUSES ON INTELLIGENT PACKAGING: PACK SMART: Intelligent, responsible and innovative packaging!

17th August 2010, New Delhi, India: From November 22nd to 25th, the international trade show “EMBALLAGE 2010” (PACKAGING EXHIBITION) will present, at the Paris Nord-Villepinte Exhibition Centre (), a complete offer to professionals in the sector: from packing, -marking, coding or printing- machines to the finished product. 5 months before opening, more than 1000 exhibitors (including 250 new ones) from 40 countries have already stated that they will be attending, and will meet the 85,000 visitors expected over 4 days.

A generalist and multi-specialist show, this year EMBALLAGE will cover 3 pavilions and has reserved dedicated areas for:

Innovations, in the “PACK INNOVATION” area:
Almost 100 innovations, proposed by the exhibitors and selected by experts, will be presented.

Exchange of ideas with specialists, in the “PACK VISION” area – Conferences:
A place for professionals from around the world to meet and swap ideas, it will focus, among other elements, on design, market innovations, initiative in user sectors,…

•
International talents from the world of packaging design, in the “PACK DESIGNERS” area:
This space will highlight the marketing, technical and economic roles of Design.

•
Environmental issues, in the “EMBALLAGE IN GREEN” area:

Exchanges of ideas and discussions will take place on a TV stage. A tour of the world of remarkable packaging will also be organised by students of Strate College Designers, “PACKAGINGS REMARQUABLES” (Incredible Packaging). Fabrice PELTIER, founder of the DesignPack Gallery, will present the exhibition “RECYCLING FOREVER”, or how to make used packaging a new source of energy and creation.

The global packaging industry is driven by sustainable development. With a market of 88 billion USD in 2009, the sector of environmentally friendly packaging should represent 170 billion USD in 2014.

A key meeting place for the profession, EMBALLAGE also seeks to be a source of information for all players in the sector. In the 2010 program:

•          A European study, in partnership with UBIFRANCE and the French Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fishing, is currently being carried out in 7 countries: Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Sweden.

Its results will be presented exclusively at EMBALLAGE 2010, within the framework of PACK VISION. It will comprise an analysis of new guidelines on the packing and packaging of food products.

•          A mass market survey: Europeans and their perception of packaging

Do the French sort their packaging more than the English? Do the Italians expect more re-usable packaging? What do the Germans think about the ergonomics of their packaging?

In September 2010, EMBALLAGE will launch a survey simultaneously in Germany, Spain, Italy, Great Britain and France to compare the attitudes and expectations of Europeans when it comes to packaging.

•          A survey on Packaging Design (or the role of design in the creation of packaging, from the viewpoint of industries who use packaging)

Is design effective in the creation of packaging? What is the added value of a designer? How do industrialists choose their agencies? Do these industrialists have, in the current environment, plans for the design of new packaging?

All these questions will be answered by EMBALLAGE thanks to the publication of the results of a survey carried out among industrialists that use packaging…[1]
