Roshni Chopra: NDTV Imagine Chooses India’s First Desi Girl in the Grand Finale

Mumbai, India, July 5, 2010: Finally, NDTV Imagine chooses India’s first Desi Girl in the grand finale episode. India’s first Desi Girl is Roshni Chopra.

Desi Girl on NDTV Imagine was started 7 weeks before. Today on 4th July, the Show celebrates its grand finale. The Show was started with 8 Mumbai’s girl.

All 8 celebrities are packed off into a small village of Punjab – Sialba Majri. The Show was based on a very new concept. It was a competitive reality game TV Show among 8 celebrities.

All contestants had to win the heart of the villagers and their new families. They had to do each and every task which was done by their family members. They entered in the village as a celebrity but they had to live their live as a villager.

Concept of Desi Girl Show is based on “Dil Jitegi Desi Girl”. Winner of the Show should have power to win the heart of whole people of Sialba Majri.

The Show was based on the voting system in the final round. All contestants had to perform tasks in this Show each day. They had to play a game also against each other to vote out.

They had to vote out against each other in the elimination round. Finally, Panchayat of the village eliminates a girl each week.

After 7 weeks, Desi Girl on NDTV Imagine announces India’s first Desi Girl – Roshni Chopra (http://microvoices.blogspot.com/). All contestants had participated in the grand finale of the Show. Panchayat members and families of top 3 contestants had also participated in the grand finale of the Show. NDTV Imagine celebrates grand finale of Desi Girl in Mumbai.

Final result was depended on the all count of votes – Indian audiences through SMS and voting of Sialba Majri. Ishita got 3rd position in this round.

Finally, Roshni Chopra (http://blogsexpression.blogspot.com/) became winner of Desi Girl and crowned by Jaidev Singh. Now, she is India’s first Desi Girl. She had gotten maximum votes by the people of Sialba Majri. Roshni was on the 3rd position in the counting of SMS and online voting. But she became the winner after the counting of Sialba Majri’s votes.
